What does it mean to be loyal?

There are many ideas that we can think of when someone says that they are loyal. Some are dogs being loyal to their owners and another is people being loyal to their homeland. Being loyal menas that you are standing by them. That they are not going and turning against the people that they follow. The people who are loyal to the country or group that they are a part of do not turn their backs on that group of people. The people are loyal to them by doing the tasks that the people in charge appoint to them. Being loyal also means that you do not do the opposite of what they swear either to do or not to do. Being loyal is not turning back on the people who promise you something or not break a promise that you swore not to tell anyone. Keeping loyalty is one of the key components in being loyal. You are loyal to your parents by doing what they ask. Most of the time anyway, and not revealing private matters to the public. Being loyal is a quality that you don't want to leave behind and you don't want your inloyalty to catch up with you in the end.
